Summary of the Road Safety Congress 2025

The Road Safety Congress 2025, organized as part of the XII Krakow Road Safety Days (12-14 March), brought together BRD specialists, representatives of science, practice and business. The event was held under the Honorary Patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure and in cooperation with leading universities and industry organizations. Autostrada Wielkopolska became, for the third time, a partner of the event.

The Congress included three specialized forums on traffic organization and BRD devices, street and road lighting and BRD problems. The event included debates, paper sessions and thematic exhibitions by companies and institutions.
The congress opened with a session on “Traffic Safety in Europe and Poland” and a debate on legal changes in the context of implementing Vision Zero.

Discussions focused on key aspects of improving safety, such as:
– Regulation of safe distances between vehicles.
– Elimination of dangerous behavior on the road, including illegal racing.
– The effectiveness of license retention as a means of eliminating dangerous drivers.
– New approaches to speed limits on different types of roads.
– Improvement of the speed management and control system, including the role of local governments.
